Individual Paper
We will consider proposals for individual papers that are not associated with a panel. They will be reviewed by the relevant stream organiser.
Abstracts to be included in an organised panel should also be submitted through this process. The author of each abstract should submit their abstract after the panel has been created and assign it to the appropriate panel.
Panel
A panel involves the presentation of prepared papers on a related topic, followed by structured discussion of those papers and Q&A. A panel proposal should have a Chair, a minimum of 3 to maximum of 4 papers. It can have a discussant, but this is not obligatory. The chair may serve also as a discussant or a paper presenter.
After the panel has been created, the individual paper presenters should submit their own abstract for inclusion in the panel
Roundtable
Roundtables involve the structured discussion of a topic/theme, without the presentation of papers. A roundtable proposal should have a Chair; and minimum of 3 to maximum of 5 roundtable speakers. Roundtable speakers will not present a “paper”, i.e. there will be no paper titles in the programme. The chair may serve also as a roundtable speaker, if necessary.
If you have not used the system before you will first be asked to create an account with your password. You can then come back to the system and change your abstract at any time up to the deadline for abstract submissions, which is midnight (UTC) 31 October 2024.
Abstracts should be not more than 3000 characters. Abstracts can be typed directly into the submission system, but if you copy and paste to submit your abstract from, for example, MS Word, ensure that you remove all formatting instructions.
ICCEES 2025 Anti-Harassment Policy and Code of Conduct regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine
The ICCEES World Congress is dedicated to providing a harassment-free congress experience for everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, nationality, citizenship, race, or religion. As an academic gathering, the Congress promotes engagement, collaboration, and the understanding of a broad range of viewpoints, all underpinned by our shared values of scholarly rigour, collegiality, and mutual respect. We do not tolerate harassment of participants or staff in any form.
In response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and representation made by our community, BASEES, ASEEES and AATSEEL issued joints statements: Firstly, a Joint Statement of Opposition to Banning Scholars Based on Citizenship, and secondly, a Joint Statement Condemning Russian University Presidents’ Statement of Support for Russia’s Assault on Ukraine. These statements, along with translations in Ukrainian and Russian, can be found on the BASEES website.
In line with the above, we have adopted the following policy for the forthcoming ICCEES 2025 Congress:
– The ICCEES 2025 Congress will welcome all students and scholars who oppose Russia’s war on Ukraine. Anyone supporting Russia’s war of aggression, or justifying it in any way, will not be welcome.
– Students and scholars based in Russia or Belarus will participate in a personal capacity.
– Our established anti-harassment policy will apply.
